🏵 The CC 2023 Wrapped Metrics

Paz here, Co-Founder of The CC 👋 Each year we review our annual metrics in a style that’s inspired by Spotify’s Yearly Wrapped ritual. As I sat down with my chai tea to write our 2023 report this week, the insights honestly brought tears to my eyes. Reflecting on what our team and community have achieved in our first full calendar year of business has been mind blowing.

I’m blown away (and can’t stop smiling), so I hope you enjoy reading them too. So grab a chai (and get the tissues ready?!) and let’s dive into our 2023 Wrapped Metrics!

> 1 extremely supportive community that continues to change lives 🥹

I’m speechless.

When I quit my job last year and we registered The CC as a PTY LTD company to support more people to build impactful communities, we could never have imagined the impact it was going to have. I remember thinking “Well, we’ll probs just run 1 program and if it doesn’t take off, I’ll just get a normal job.” Damn I was wrong.

Not once could I have ever imagined how viral The CC’s presence was going to go through word of mouth.

Not once could I have ever imagined touching the lives of 600+ community builders across 16 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria, England, India, Spain, Sri Lanka, America, Colombia, Kenya, Russia, Singapore, Poland, Pakistan, Egypt and Netherlands.

Not once could I have ever imagined supporting community roles at companies such as Airtree, Antler, Canva, B Lab Australia, MYOB, CSIRO and KPMG to build community strategies.

Not once could I have ever imagined hiring a team of 3 to keep up with the demand.

Not once could I have ever imagined this becoming my full-time job paying me a wage (& super!) only 30% less than my previous job.

Not once could I have ever imagined that the country with the 2nd largest number of members from our Community Cohort would be Nigeria.

Not once could I have imagined The CC becoming profitable within 3 months of registering it as a company and generating 6 figures in revenue in 18 months, with no external investment.

Not once could I have imagined all of this…

Cohort #3 CC’ians catching up in Nigeria

But we have not done it alone. There are so many people to acknowledge. Special mention to our Co-Founders; Melia and Jaala, Advisors; Ben, Kim, Dan, our team, Thao, Angela, Sanchi, Ambassadors, Alumni Hosts, Alumni Editors, Coaches, Speakers, CC’ians and many friends who’ve supported us along the way. Not to mention all those who have recommended us to someone - a huge heartfelt thank you

This community has evolved so quickly from our OG free meetup in Melbourne to a fully fledged business impacting the lives of humans all around the world.

Our vision remains to empower the world to build impactful communities.

We are committed to demonstrating that communities can not only change the lives of people, but entire businesses. Communities are the next best strategy for certain businesses. Community IS the driving force behind success.

These 2 comments from our recent Cohort #3 CC’ians say it all:

The Cohort turned my fairly lonely community management journey that I don't feel like I can explain to anyone, into a purpose that I am proud to share. I have so much more confidence in my role as a community builder after 8 weeks in this program and not only have a better understanding of what I currently do, but also what I WANT to do. I have rubbed shoulders with and learned from some of the best in the industry, and can't wait to see where this path takes me next.” - Kirsten McNeice, Head of Community @ Werkling

“The CC has solidified my pathway. Made me feel seen, heard and understood in community management. The network is life-changing and the workshops changed the way I operate as a community builder. - Jack Hallam, General Manager @ Ammo Marketing

And what’s to come in 2024? Plenty. We’re locked in to run 2 more Cohorts in April & September. We’re reshaping the way our free meetup community operates (more details soon). We’ll be launching a new public event series to support anyone curious about community and a podcast is even on the table… Not to mention an entire new pre-accelerator program to help anyone land a job as a Community Manager.

We’ll share more in our next newsletter coming out on New Years Day 🧡

Thanks for staying on the journey with us. Until next year!
